All in One Aquarium vs Separate Equipment Setup: Which Is Better for First Time Buyers?

A guy who designs industrial control systems for a living — genuinely smart, the kind who reads manuals for fun — emailed me last month with a video of his new tank. A modular system looks more impressive on the stand and makes you feel more serious in the store — and then it gurgles at 2 a.m. because the overflow and the pump never met each other.
